Razia Said is a Malagasy singer, songwriter, and environmental activist, known for blending traditional Malagasy rhythms with contemporary world music styles. Born in Antalaha, Madagascar, Razia spent much of her life traveling and living in various countries, which deeply influenced her musical style. Her music addresses social and environmental issues, particularly deforestation and the destruction of Madagascar’s unique ecosystems. Razia's critically acclaimed Cumbancha album Zebu Nation (2010) brought her international attention, with its fusion of Malagasy instruments and Afro-pop melodies, combined with powerful lyrics about preserving Madagascar's natural heritage. Beyond her music career, Razia is actively involved in raising awareness about environmental sustainability in Madagascar. Her work continues to inspire audiences worldwide, blending advocacy with art to create a lasting impact on both culture and conservation.
