Thaïs Morell is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and music educator. She has released three original albums and performed in thirteen different countries, showcasing Brazilian popular music with a distinctive style and global musical influences. Originally from Curitiba, a city in southern Brazil, Morell's music blends jazz, bossa nova, and folk styles, drawing inspiration from Gil Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Elis Regina, Marisa Monte and Cape Verdean musician, Mayra Andrade. She began playing the piano at the age of nine and transitioned to guitar at fifteen. Her musical journey evolved from starting university as a "guitarist who sings" to finishing it as a "singer who also plays guitar." Morell then pursued her Master's in Ethnomusicology, studying in three different countries: Finland, Spain, and Ghana. Having spent a decade living abroad, she has amassed a rich and diverse musical background.

One of the tracks from her latest album, Quatro Cantos, released in 2023, is "Lua Vai, Lua Vem” (Moon Goes, Moon Comes). Despite its introspective lyrics exploring the challenges of loneliness and the cyclical nature of life, the song features a lively melody and groovy rhythm. “Moon goes, moon comes,” Morell sings, “And I'm still here / Watching the day go by / Serene and slow / And everything is in its place.”
The Café Brazil track, “Agora ou Jamais” (Now or Never) originally appeared in Morell’s 2012 album Cancioneira. She sings about her frustrations with love. “He said he was coming, but he didn’t show / She said the world was too ugly / For those who long for peace / For those who worry too much / About the love of a guy.”
