Paulo Renato is a composer, singer, and guitarist from Brasília, Brazil’s capital city. Raised by parents who had moved inland from Rio de Janeiro, Renato is a devotee of the classic bossa nova sound that developed in 1950s and 60s Brazil. Singer, actress and composer Marie Minare previously worked with samba jazz artist Don Rodri to revive the legendary Luiz Loy Quinteto, a bossa nova group from the 1960s that had recorded with Elis Regina, Jair Rodrigues, João Gilberto, Wilson Simonal and other icons. In 2020, Renato and Minare released the single "A Teia," which was featured in a major TV show and garnered nearly 3 million streams, motivating them to continue creating music together.

"Lábios Castanhos" (Nut-brown Lips) is a poetic and romantic song that reflects on the serenity, sensuality and surprise of love. “I taste the sound of the waters / I even smell it / I hear the dark and the light / I savor faith / I kiss your nut-brown lips / Common, strange / I sail through your sky / Which salts the blades of the windmills / Which shrinks the paths / Which sweetens the tides.”
