Oye Sebas, born in Girardot, Colombia, grew up surrounded by music, influenced by his grandparents and inspired by traditional instruments such as the tiple. After finishing school, he pursued sound engineering in Bogotá, then traveled to Spain to deepen his musical education. In Granada, he studied flamenco percussion, followed by jazz and electronic music production in Barcelona. He released his first album, Cruzando el Charco, in 2017. As a singer, songwriter, and producer, his music blends Latin American folklore with cinematic storytelling, incorporating Latin American and Caribbean styles such as merengue, cumbia, champeta, and bullerengue. Oye Sebas' work evokes the magical realism of South American cultures, merging art forms like dance, cinema, and music.
