NUNNE, born Yosune Yáñez, is a Mexican singer-songwriter and audio engineer whose music reflects her personal journey of self-discovery and cultural reclamation. Starting formal training in voice and piano at 11, she performed with several bands and quickly found herself on international stages like Lollapalooza. At 18, she moved to Montreal, where she studied audio engineering and embraced her Mexican roots, blending traditional Latin sounds with modern influences. Her 2023 debut album, La Selenita, was praised for its exploration of themes like immigration and nostalgia, earning her nominations at the EMPY Awards and Latin Awards Canada. Now, NUNNE is preparing to release her second album, Hakú, inspired by the passing of a close friend, showcasing her emotive storytelling and distinctive musical style in contemporary Latin music.

The song “Nada de Nada” (Nothing at All) will be appearing on NUNNE’s new album. It is an ode to the eyes of her deceased friend that inspired the upcoming album. “Nothing at allyou tell me / With your gaze / Your eyes so gray / Your tongue is tied, you don’t speak / And you expect me to fall in love?”
On the heartbreak ballad “Vuela” (Fly), NUNNE sings, “Fly, my soul.
