Paulo Renato is a composer, singer, and guitarist from Brasília, Brazil’s capital city. Raised by parents who had moved inland from Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Renato is a devotee of the classic bossa nova sound that developed in 1950s and 60s Brazil. In Brasília, Renato had several bands before deciding to dedicate his time to bossa nova and MPB, when he then invited Marie Minare to participate in his recordings. In Italy in 2018 and 2019 Renato released two songs in partnership with the Italian singer Simona Santin. "Verso il Sole" reached number one on some Italian radio stations in the "foreign music" category. The music video for the second single, “Forza In Musica,” was shown on the screens of the most important airports and subways in Italy.

Singer, actress and composer Marie Minare previously worked with samba jazz artist Don Rodri to revive the legendary Luiz Loy Quinteto, a bossa nova group from the 1960s that had recorded with Elis Regina, Jair Rodrigues, João Gilberto, Wilson Simonal and other icons. In 2020, Paulo Renato released the single "A Teia," with Marie Minare, which was featured in a major TV show and garnered nearly 3 million streams, motivating them to continue creating music together.

"Lábios Castanhos" (Nut-brown Lips) is a poetic and romantic song that reflects on the serenity, sensuality and surprise of love. “I taste the sound of the waters / I even smell it / I hear the dark and the light / I savor faith / I kiss your nut-brown lips / Common, strange / I sail through your sky / Which salts the blades of the windmills / Which shrinks the paths / Which sweetens the tides.”
