Nuff Said Live

Belgium

Based in Antwerp, Belgium, the collective music project ‘Nuff Said has for the past 15 years presented dynamic live events, featuring spoken word, hip hop, comedy, music, and literature. Hosted monthly in cities across Belgium and the Netherlands, the events showcase both local and international performers, with a mix of established and undiscovered talents. The house band, Lucid Lucia (formerly BRZZVLL), collaborates with different artists each month for live sets. This collaboration spirit culminated in "'Nuff Said Live Volume One," a compilation album produced by Lucid Lucia’s keyboard player Jan Willems, featuring artists such as Sharrif Simmons, Okon, Zap Mama, and Brother Ali. The project captures diverse energies and styles, reflecting the essence of the performances.

“Say Word” features guest appearances SHAKUAR, a global fusion duet of singers Shishani & Karima el Fillali of Namibian and Moroccan heritage respectively, and American poet, musician, writer, and educator Sharrif Simmons. The lyrics mix onomatopoeic words with lines in English and the Oshiwambo language of Namibia. “And when they see you / Show them who is with you / Tell them who you are / Tell them where you're from.”
