Gadel Sanita, born in 1998 in the Brazilian countryside near São Paulo, discovered his passion for music at 12, starting with the guitar before transitioning to the acoustic guitar at 18. Deeply inspired by MPB (Música Popular Brasileira or Brazilian Popular Music), a genre that emerged in the 1960s in Brazil, blending traditional Brazilian music styles like samba and bossa nova with contemporary influences, including jazz, rock, and folk, Gadel’s compositions and performances reflect his cultural roots and personal worldview. Coming from a humble, creative family, Gadel views music as a fundamental necessity, a source of energy and well-being as vital as water. In 2023, he released his first singles and his debut EP in November, 2024.

Gadel is joined on his song “Salvador” by Leo Middea, a Portugal-based singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, who is a rising star in the international Brazilian music scene. The song is a heartfelt ode to Salvador, the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia and an epicenter for Afro-Brazilian culture and music. “Wherever I go, I never stop thinking: / Why is it, could it be, why is it, could it be / Could it be that I’m so in love with you? / Salvador, I’m already on my way.”
