Frigg, one of Finland’s most vibrant musical exports, is a Nordic sextet celebrated for their exhilarating blend of Finnish folk and American bluegrass, a style a Finnish journalist coined "Nordgrass." Named after the Norse goddess of love and fertility, the band has captivated audiences worldwide with their heartwarming, feel-good tunes and masterful musicianship. Since they formed in 2000, Frigg have released 11 albums and performed in over 30 countries, earning a reputation for electrifying live shows. They have performed as far afield as the UK’s WOMAD Festival, Borneo’s Rainforest World Music Festival and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado. Known for their intricate string arrangements and virtuosic fiddling, Frigg combines traditional melodies with innovative compositions, delivering a distinctive fiddle-forward sound that has earned them a wide following among folk music aficionados.

Frigg’s mandolinist Petri Prauda wrote “Maple Cake Farm,” a fun, gently upbeat folk tune that originally appeared on the band’s 2010 album Grannen. Prauda explains that the idea for the song came to him when they were hosted at a farm in Vermont while on a US tour. “The surrounding landscape was incredibly beautiful with rolling hills and autumn colors that inspired me immediately to write this tune.”
