Composed by Vinícius in collaboration with Adrião Filho and Stephane Cartanto, “Rio de dores” (River of Hurt) has a bouncy rhythm, accordion melody and poetic form inspired by the forró style typical of Brazil’s Northeast. The song expresses a yearning to find peace amid inner turmoil, symbolized by a drifting journey through pain and a desperate, dreamlike search for solace. “We feel it / Feel it from deep within / In the depths of our chest / With a sense of despair / In the gut, a foreign crossroads / Thin air untying my calm.”
